re: the labor lawyer stuff at the end: Great point about the union able to pool resources for law disputes. I remember watching one of the Elizabeth Holmes/Theranos documentaries and one of the early whistleblowers got sued by the company and had to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees over multiple years before summarily dropping the case. This person’s parents were independently very wealthy and could thus front the money, but it made me think about how screwed the average employee would be if a company decided to bring the full weight of their legal department on an individual. Unions help with that issue!
