I think the best way to explain the youth hockey culture of the cold countries (Canada, Scandi, Russia etc.) is that it's similar to how youth Football is treated in the Dallas metroplex. Speaking for Canada specifically, the kids who participate in the World Juniors can become household names in the matter of a couple weeks and frequently go on to become the best players in professional hockey.

I haven't actually added it up to confirm, but the story I arrived at is that Matt had precalculated the exact number of seconds of original content he needed to record in order to deliver 52 hours and 11 minutes of annual content and once he hit his 2024 numbers he said "fuck it", immediately cut the mic, and hit upload.
