I appreciated the talk about the psycho sperm donees. As a proud product of the sperm donor-IVF industrial complex, I’ve always been alienated how people conceptualize its effect on things like family and identity. I have literally zero biological relation to one of my parents but they’re indisputably my parent in a way my supposed father (who I have zero interest in ever knowing) never will be. I had always thought the unnecessary reduction of family to pure biology came from those with no experience with the system, so it’s disheartening hearing the same biologicism coming from participants themselves.
