Taking A Morning Ride
🕑 Added 2022-01-21 16:50:33 +0000 UTC"It's not uncommon for Lara to wake up early and go riding. Even if the weather is horrible she strives to make it every day. It's something she's been passionate about for a long time, so she's made great strides to always set time aside for it. And you're always supportive of her passions.
Giddyup."
Animation by Domino the Cat, with sound by Luriam and voice by Mia Lovett.
This video was completed just as I was transititioning into 8K 60fps from 6K 120fps, so it's not "perfect" in terms of framerate efficiency or resolution. That aside, I'll definitely be adding 8K and 120fps versions to my list of renders from now on. 120fps make such a difference on fast moving animations like this. My workflow wasn't exactly perfected yet on this one, but there's certainly a visible difference if you have a headset that can handle 120fps.
My only regret with this is that I couldn't utilize the volumetric lighting that Domino had set up. It really added to the ambiance, but in the end was killing the render and would have made it impossible to complete, at least with my current hardware.
More to come next week. I'm still working out what light paths and samples I need to use as a miniumum for renders, but we're getting closer and closer. I really do believe that soon enough I'll have the best looking CG, rule 34 videos available in VR.
Enjoy!
