yep, as far as I understand - basically he upgraded to Version 2.0 & made 2 Copies (Beta & Gamma) of his previous state (1.0)

In the beginning, where they're recapping the last episode and talking about how No. 9 said 1 and 2 were as strong as he was. Was he not talking about the his clones, and saying how they WERE as strong as him (before he evolved)? I feel like that makes more sense, instead of assuming he was referring to the other kaijus (especially considering one had future vision). They confusing the heck out of me
