They definitely have typing classes where they learn to type and use certain softwares, but this generation doesn’t think they need it. They’re phone smart, but computer illiterate. Almost all of my students use Caps Lock to capitalize ONE LETTER, instead of using Shift. Like that’s how bad it is

**Hotel sales person here!** Heath, check to see if any of the hotels near the venue do courtesy blocks. Basically no financial obligations but they may limit the amount of rooms you can book. You can also ask if it’s possible to drop rooms prior to the cut off date with no penalties (normally 30 days prior to check-in). By then, you should have a better idea of how many rooms you’ll actually need. You can also try to negotiate the attrition rate if they have one. My hotel is 70% attrition, meaning you would be responsible for 70% of the rooms you block. Say you contract 10 rooms, you HAVE to book at least 7. If you only book 6, then you would just need to cover the difference of 1. I hope that makes sense! Hotel room blocks can be negotiated so don’t feel like what they say is set and stone. Just make sure everything discussed is on the contract! 😊
