I’m sorry
🕑 Added 2024-09-28 14:31:14 +0000 UTCHey everyone. This might just be a me thing, where i feel bad for something you guys don’t even think or care too much about, but I’ve been publishing a lot less content than I usually do. I wanted to apologize for that and to explain why.
I’m still drawing and making stuff, and I have several videos in the works, but it’s been a far cry from when I uploaded 5-7 shorts a week. There’s a combination of reasons why, but don’t worry, I’m not burned out or anything.
Firstly, I’ve made like 350 short videos and while I’ve grown a much larger subscriber base than I’d thought, and have a bunch of viral videos, they don’t pay the bills. Like I make nothing from them at all. I don’t receive ad revenue because the requirements for it are so high for shorts. You need 10 million views in a 3 month window to qualify and while I’ve been close, currently I’m only getting like a million views a month. You guys and my merch store are the only source of income I have in regards to content creation, and while I super appreciate the support, I don’t want to rely entirely on you.
To this end, I’ve been working more on long form content, which takes a lot longer to make since I do everything in the channel. I do not have an editor, I do not have a social media manager who does my posts, and I’m not sure I’d want to. An editor might be helpful after I’ve established a style for my long form content but at this time, I don’t make enough to pay anyone to edit for me and I wouldn’t want it to be something people do pro bono either. Since editing long form content takes longer, and I want it to be better than my shorts, I’ve been spending more time on the art I’m using so it looks more professional as well.
Add together the increase in time for editing with the increase in effort used on my drawings, and the fact that I also work a full time job aside from YouTube, and it’s pretty clear to see that the result is a decrease in the amount of content I’m pushing out. Quality over quantity. At least hopefully that’s the case.
That’s the main reason for the slowdown, but there’s a couple others. Since I’ve been wanting to improve the level of videos I’m making, I also want to create more variety in them as well. I’ve been wanting to add other types of videos to my repertoire instead of doing so many “drawing in 3 lines” videos. I’ve wanted to add other art challenges, more Timelapse’s/recordings of full illustrations, more tutorials, and some videos where I review and rate art tips from other creators or review community submit art and give my advice. Because there’s so much to do, and because I want to make content that’s relative to pop culture right now, I get overwhelmed with options and spend a good amount of time sorting my thoughts and recently that’s made executing an idea difficult.
This is especially the case now that the jujutsu kaisen manga has ended. It’s no secret that might most popular content has been my jjk stuff, and now that the manga is over and the next season of the anime is a ways from being released, I don’t have a go-to subject for drawing, and the choices I have now feel less safe. I love drawing comics, but generally my comic content does significantly worse than my anime content and I want to be able to create things both I and my audience enjoy. So uhhh maybe expect more bleach, one piece, and chainsaw man content when it comes to my shorts lol.
I just wanted to talk about this a little so you guys aren’t worried about me, and to explain why I’ve only made like 10 videos this month. There’s a lot to be excited about, but it takes time. Thanks for watching my content, and keep being awesome.

Like you said, "quality over quantity." I'm a supporter because you put out quality content, not loads of garbage. 10 videos a month is 10 more than I've put out! Happy to keep supporting as long as you put your heart into what you do!
