BRIGHTWATER - Part 1
🕑 Added 2023-11-10 15:00:12 +0000 UTCHello all!
After the poll, I see the majority vote is a preference towards a seamless, fully mapped city. I'll take a swing at doing this, but maybe in the future I'll try out the isometric with key locations mapped out (this would make things like maps of full castles, cathedrals, etc easier).
This is the first of a 4 Part canal city. My goal with this is to slightly compromise some of the poll by having each "part" map work as a standalone map. These maps could then work together as a larger, fully assembled map. For me, this means avoiding overlapping buildings across each section (to prevent cutting off building interiors). I probably won't have a full sprawl of the city, instead opting for a "snapshot" section of a larger city.
Introducing Brightwater!
This city is built alongside a series of canals that lead to a larger body of water. In this section, there are tents lining the street and adjacent platforms selling food and crafts to those passing by. Be weary of shifty individuals playing con games along the street. Some of the houses here are lower income houses, filled mainly with simple furnishings. In this area, there is also a rumor of a black-market of potions and alchemical components. These unregulated and counterfeit goods are seen a blessing to the poor, however they are questionable in quality and may have nefarious side effects.
