You could run monthly/bi-monthly polls of a games/series featuring characters you like that we could choose from.

One recommendation I do have is that of a poll of themes. Not exactly characters, but themes like 'SNK Girls' 'Aged-Up' and/or 'Things That Shouldn't Happen'.
