Josh

Allora's approach is completely understandable! It's just something that's going to need to change and adapt. I love that all the characters, every one of them, has a lot of growth ahead of them in their character arcs.

That’s definitely how she sees it. Allora and her are polar opposites in terms of their moralities and views on life. As far as Allora deciding things for Mitchell, in her mind her ultimate job is to protect him until he gets to the throne, even from himself. Part of her struggle is recognizing that Mitchell is changing and she doesn’t need to watch out for him all the time. But she’s been on survival mode for a long time and that sort of thing doesn’t disappear overnight. And, welcome to my Patreon. Thanks so much for singing up! I look forward to hearing your thoughts going forward.

I think Lethelin's price was completely reasonable. She's putting her life on the line. Mitchell gets a kingdom; Allora is an Onyx Knight and it is both her duty and something she will be greatly honored for, both great motivations for her. Lethelin has every right to ask for what moves her, and it is a small fraction of the value the others will receive. What I hope happens at some point is that Allora's lecture becomes known to Mitchell. Because given his thoughts about the two of them sniping at each other, he's not likely to approve of what Allora said. He'd forgive her for it, but he'd have many things to say about her presumptuousness and the fact that she's developing a pattern of deciding things for him.

Geo

When she first made her deal I was of a similar mindset to Mitchell, they need all the help they can get. Any uneasiness I felt was smoothed over by her oath and I didn’t really think any more about it. Now I find myself agreeing with Allora, mostly the point she made about the exorbitant price Lethelin demanded… It does seem like Lethelin regrets it at least to some extent, but like Devon said; she’s a loner and has had to rely on herself. So I do get why she did it. Definitely room for some character development, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Trevayne

Agreed, but I was more getting at the notion that she has been a crook for so long she is having trouble seeing the potential of going legit as a heroine of the rebellion.

DevonHexx

For sure. She mostly runs solo. She's not used to being part of a team.

Trevayne

Lethelin really has some thinking to do. She has been locked into the criminal thief/assassin existence so long she doesn't see that this is a golden opportunity to move up. If they win and manage to put Mitchell on the throne, she could be a hero and well rewarded.
