SYS: Update #20 (Important Announcement)
🕑 Added 2021-11-20 18:43:49 +0000 UTC
Good Day, everyone.
Before we get into today's Update, I have an important announcement to make in regards to SYS.
After having worked for more than 2 years on this project, I think I am now very happy with the state of the game to such an extent that I'd like to call this project completed and I think it is time for me to move on! ('ᴗ')
Back when I first released the game as Version 1.0 it already pretty much had everything in it that I originally envisioned for the project, though through the generous support of my Patrons I was able to include a lot more content post launch. I am very grateful for this as I was able to also include my two other biggest ideas I had for the game: The Fight Nights and the Dark Essence expansion packs. I would not have been able to do this without the support I got so I'd like to thank you all for this! Without you this would not have been possible.
Regarding the near future, here is what I've got currently planned: Since Christmas is just around the corner I would of course like to add some Xmas themed Maps to the game for the last updates. There is also one more Character I absolutely need to include into the project, since I had her in my head for this game pretty much from the very beginning. There will be two more updates throughout of December and then shortly after New Years of 2022, the final version will go public and that will conclude the development of this project.
If possible I would like to continue to make games, infact I already have some ideas as to what I want to make next. This is a topic for another day but chances are high that this game would be a lot more lewd. Like, a lot. ( ͡° ~ ͡°)
Anyway, on to today's update, which can be downloaded now by all Bernadette and Lexi Patrons!
So, rolling out first are 3 new Event Cards! I had some good fun making these (but testing them was a pain, haha!) The first one is called "Busted"!
A blessing for every character that isn't a good fighter! This should make the game a lot more peaceful for a little while, of course this also heavily depends on the map that is currently being played on.
Next up is "Health Insurance"!
There are a lot of events which can be bad for characters that aren't all that strong and those are exactly the ones some other strong fighters pick on. With this small financial boost things will hopefully get better. Just remember to spend the money wisely! Oh, and to take it back to your house safe because else someone might rob you, now that would be pretty bad! (T_T)
And for the last card we have "Reinforce"!
This is some good news for everyone with Guards on their payroll and very bad news for everyone looking to attack some estates. If you're currently trying to take the house down and this event comes into play, you better have some grenades ready, for things are about to get tough!
Next up, we have 2 new maps. The first one is called "Shopping Road"!
A rather peaceful place in the suburbs, on this 3 player map it is important to take control of the shopping street at the bottom of the map. The Kebab Shop can replenish your HP, the Boutique and Noodlehouse not only can help you out, but they can also be bought as well, making it possible to kickstart your operations!
And next is a very special map, no other map is like it! Time for the "Warehouse Showdown"!
This map will provide a very different game experience than usual! Things are about to get chaotic on this one if you got some rather mean spirited characters in the game! Building the proper estates has never been more important, so make absolutely sure you think twice about what to build! Oh, and bring guards!
And the last topic for today: The AI Players got some Personality Upgrades!
I noticed that players didn't tend to bother with the Doctrine settings in the Home Menu and that they just kept with what they started with, mostly because changing the Doctrine costs a valuable action point. Well, now when AI Characters land on your Home tile and you've got either the Soup or Hostile Doctrine active, their relationship to you can improve or degrade!

This opens up some new, interessting options for you since now having a Hostile Doctrine for example might annoy people you'd rather not annoy (Mickey comes to mind), so you'd need to think twice about using this Doctrine (which is very useful by the way).
Conversely, there's now a good reason to use the Soup Doctrine because it can make you many friends rather quickly (of course Leonora still doesn't care, haha)! Players didn't seem to like the Soup Doctrine all too much because it also meant that their enemies would get health boosts but this should be a good incentive to give it a try, especially when you're playing as someone who shouldn't be getting into fights.
So yeah! Both Doctrines now have big up- and downsides! Of course every character will react differently to both of these!
And last but not least, here a sneak peek for the next update! > : 3
That's all for this update! For a complete overview of everything this patch does please refer to the changelog down below.
- Added "Shopping Road" as a new 3 Player Map.
- Added "Warehouse Showdown" as a new 4 Player Map.
- Added "Busted" to the Event Card pool.
- Added "Health Insurance" to the Event Card pool.
- Added "Reinforce" to the Event Card pool.
- Added new AI Personality Behaviour, depending on the character they will now like / dislike you when landing on your HOME Tile with a Soup / Hostile Doctrine active.
- Fixed a bug which caused the Doctrine Symbol to not disappear sometimes when a player would go Game Over.
- Fixed a bug which would have the HUD sometimes show Decimal Numbers for Money and Zentra when visiting shops.
- Modified Multi-Hotels, they now at the beginning bring in significantly less Money when someone lands on them.
I hope you'll have fun with the game!
Please stay tuned for further updates in the future! ('ᴗ')
Regards,
Snooley
