Update: Where I've been
🕑 Added 2025-02-23 20:05:15 +0000 UTCIt's just about time for the bi-annual update, so here's where I've been since the last one:
In fall of last year I had a resurgence in my back / shoulder issues, which made it harder to work and spend time at my desk. Part of it was just the discomfort, but the other part was doing the necessary stretches, exercises, and brakes to prevent any further issues. Obviously there was also doctors visits and testing done to see what was causing it and what should be done.
The good news is that there isn't any permanent issues or anything life-threatening, but the bad news is that recovery is slow, and unfortunately neither this job or my regular one can be done while in transit so my "free" time was even more limited.
However, I have been able to draw more recently and I've been figuring out ways to get more art out in less time without sacrificing quality. I've also been writing down outlines for sequences to work on in between individual pieces (Sequences will have a little less rendering than regular pieces in exchange for length, but I'll make sure they look just as good overall. Length will vary - they'll have as many pages as they need, but I would rather they be twice as good with half as many pages than the other way around.
The final thing is that I noticed I made much more art when I alternated between making it "for patrons" and "for myself". Most of the time it's both... but there was a short period where making ANY kind of art (not just nsfw) just felt like going "back to work" and I was spending more time for less art that was worse. So I'm DEFINITELY going to avoid that 🫠 .
