On the BBC radio thing, there are actually 6 😂 (don’t think there are any more numbers, but there are things like 1Xtra) and they are all different vibes. 1 - Generally for a younger audience (15-24), heavy focus on pop / contemporary and charts. 2 - For a slightly older audience than radio 1, but still pop / contemporary. Artists often transition from being played more on radio 1 to radio 2 over time (as someone about to turn 30 I am more in the radio 2 audience catchment now I think 😂) 3 - Classical music focus 4 - Mostly talking based rather than music, often about more serious topics 5 - Radio 5 live is for sports coverage 6 - Alternative music

The Def Leppard performance was part of a whole show they did together, with a mix of both their songs and her songs!! It was a "CMT Crossroads." Also, Taylor's tour manager is the older brother of Def Leppard's drummer! But it all came about because Taylor said in an interview that the only band she would ever do Crossroads with was Def Leppard (she's a huge fan -- even knew their more esoteric songs). They saw the interview and reached out to her!

Def Leppard was a whole concert. It was CMT Crossroads (2009) where they bring two groups together to perform. She reached out and got Def Leppard's Drummer to contact her to get it going. Andrea is a big fan of the band also. They did a few interviews and played a few songs from each other. Hysteria, Photograph, Love story, Picture to burn, Our song and Two steps behind.

They have such a fun texture, are so playfully-shaped, and also have quite high amounts of protein since it's a legume~ as a usually-vegetarian they're pretty affordable and nutritious. Really enjoyed this video! I had never heard that first one before, or the Chicks cover. But I did want to say that The City cover was in January 2023, but she had performed Gasoline/Love Story with Haim in July 2022, and exile with Bon Iver in October 2022. So it was not her first time on stage since the pandemic, Also, if you ask me, she and Matty were at least flirting, if not more than that, at this time. But I think you captured one of the keys to Taylor's success when you said that for her, it is always about the music. That's why she knows every song on the planet (it seems like) and can get up and sing that idiot Dave Grohl's song when he was too drunk to do so, among many other examples of her just singing ex tempore and knowing all the words and the music.

Bonny your hair thing is so pretty! One of my favourite covers is when she did Michelle Branch's All You Wanted on the Speak Now tour, her voice and vocal range were absolutely perfect for that song. If you're going to look at more covers perhaps you could go over more from the Speak Now tour? I have never seen that Brooks & Dunn performance, I have no idea why as I LOVED them back in the day. That was f---ing incredible! Way up there for me. I've always adored The Phil Collins cover and Untouchable. I'm a little sad that I can't enjoy The City cover that much. I used to love the 1975 and their sound, even though I wasn't that familiar with their discography. I haven't been able to listen to anything from them since TTPD. Matty honestly makes me sick. And its really too bad, The City is a good song. Taylor sounded great though and looked fantastic!

I was having such a crappy day and then you two pop up once again- raining joy on me lol It’s so weird that we were just talking about that Crossroads episode in the chat yesterday lol it’s so fun to hear Def Lep sing Love Story with her 😂 I still have the dvd of this- it’s the only episode ever put out on dvd. Taylor was asked to do the show and she requested Def Lep and they were happy to do it. It puts a country singer with a rock band, or other genre to collab together. I had completely forgotten about that Brooks & Dunn tribute she did lol she was great on that. Taylor was a huge fan of Tom Petty-especially his song writing. American Girl was a huge hit for him here in the US. Great video ladies 🫶

I love what you're mentioning with the Brooks & Dunn song. Taylor is and has always been, first and foremost, a music fan, and that just pours out of her with every song, every performance.
