Chris Brown

Yeah. In 'RPG' terms, it looks like you lose a level every time you die. Easy to grind back at low levels, but much harder the higher your level gets

Maurice Brown

The Doctor : [turns his head slowly to look at her] Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many.

Carl Mason

I don't actually get the siblings vibe from them, mostly what I get instead is the "I barely know you and am not actively pursuing anything even momentary as a result of having experienced far too much change in far too short a period because I am not a fool even if I am ignorant" vibe.

ReadingObsessed

Agreed agreed. That's why we're here.

Carl Mason

I don't remember it being potential, though maybe as a frequent dyers benefit, I recall it being advancement you lose with every death.

Daniel S

I wonder what the punishment is for the assassination of a noble on their own lands is. With a respawn mechanic as a natural law of the world there's no point in killing someone for the crime. Though if I'm remembering correctly if you die your soul loses some of its available potential? I can't recall if that's permanent though does anyone remember?

Colt Parris

Skipped a few steps there. But I like the hustle

George

"This ends now." Yep, Amber is Angry, and I'm guessing they should fear the wrath of a gentle woman.

George

Last week: 2,525 words This week: 3,048 words Yeah, it's a bit shorter. Of course we always want more of this great story, but I'll happily take what the author manages to give us.

George

Yeah, I'm definitely getting a siblings vibe from their relationship so far. The two have a solid mutual respect going, which I assume Amber has never experienced from anyone else. If that hasn't caused her to form romantic feelings (and I don't believe it has), then I don't know what would. That said, as long as feels natural to the characters, I'd be happy either way.

Darkarma

First order of business once they establish their house... build a respawn dungeon. Bleed these interlopers' cultivation for Carlos' death and ransom them back their families.

Craig Hannah

Can't they just be friends? Why does romance have to be inserted (heh) into every male/female relationship?

Beeees!

They are gonna be in for such a big surprise once it's revealed that they aren't nobles poaching mana density, but the new nobles in charge of the land

ReadingObsessed

This felt shorter than last week. Anyone else get that impression?

Anthony Gerald Miller

Will this provoke the Amber-Carlos romance I find sorely missing here?

MindWright

Pretty sure we'll see a first person POV of his respawn, probably next chapter. Should answer or raise some interesting questions.

Connor Mcharg

We still could've got a “Carlos woke up, which was a novel experience” at the end. …It's probably better this way though.

Connor Mcharg

…well, there goes my theory that the four adventurers were organising the rotation - the other nobles were just better at hiding it. That said, the four adventurers have no idea how much of a shock they're in for, and they just had a big one. (although, if Carlos respawns at the Haven, they might have an idea…)

Bunny Waffles

He is too busy being dead to have a POV

Maurice Brown

They have soooo fucked up here. It’s rare that I’m baying for blood but this time? Yeah, I want some Old Testament stuff.

magic_person#1200

First, disappointed by the lack of Carlos pov
