The Circus on the Edge of Town...
🕑 Added 2024-10-19 01:47:15 +0000 UTCThere's long been a legend around town about the old fairgrounds, you remember right? It's that last turn before you're in orchard country, by the county line. I think I remember we used to go to the pumpkin patches and festivals down there when we were younger...
Well, you know how the fair grounds closed like, way before we even grew up? I think it was in the 60's or the early 70's, I don't really remember exactly... but it was after that incident with the clown. "Kittoo the Clown", he was a draw to the circus, I think my parents said he was around even back when they would go to the circus, and that must've been in the 50's or so...
Wait, you never heard about the accident? Oh dude, it was rough... well, depending on who you ask... See, nobody actually exactly know how he passed. Some say it was a freak accident involving a taming act, others say it was a freak accident while juggling swords... but the details never exactly mattered.
What do I think? I mean, even though the owner of the circus basically strongarmed the coroner into keeping it a secret... I heard he broke down and told his kid, and I heard from his second cousin, y'know, the one with the pigtails... well I heard from her that he said it was a tightrope walking act gone horribly wrong.
Anyways, like I said, it's not exactly important how he died. Just that he passed during the show, and it traumatized people, so badly most of them didn't even talk about it after... it's like they all collectively coped by forgetting... And, not just that, but the city forgot too, and the whole place got shut down. Y'know, even the groundskeeper doesn't stay there after dark? Yeah, that old guy, who lives on the edge of town. Quiet guy, doesn't talk a lot, kind of jumpy? Well, he was the guy the owner chose to take care of the fair after it was shut down, some war veteran or something, didn't have work and so well... he took the job immediately... Apparently that changed him...
Well, anyways, like I said a second ago, the owner of the troupe basically closed up the fairgrounds, left everything there too. Apparently the owner was gonna open the place back up after everything blew over... but then well... he turned up dead on the fairgrounds.
Sort of, at least. He was going to the grounds alone to survey the damage, you know, see what it was gonna take to reopen the place, after all that would've been like, the early 80's, you remember, when we were kids. Remember how all those families were moving in? He thought it could be a profit, y'know with all the new blood in town... well, anyways, he never came back. See, the place always had something wrong about it, well, after the clown died at least.
Grown ups would explore the place and come back... off. Heck, sometimes they wouldn't even come back at all. It was like the fairgrounds just... swallowed them up... took them away to somewhere completely different.
What's that?
Yeah, yeah like another dimension. Well, some people think it's not that they went to another dimension, but that they went to his world. See, the legend goes, that if you go on October 31st, the day of his death, at 03:00, that you'll cross the boundary, and go from ours into the next. See, because of the way he died, and all the people who saw it, they say the energy just kinda... stuck. The place isn't just haunted by the energy of Kittoo, it's also haunted by all the negativity of what happened there...
Yeah, you know about all that, the circus was a total sham. Sure, a lot of families were happy, but the owner was awful. He'd run it with an iron fist, overworked people, even hurt a few of the performers on a few occasions... but they all felt they had nowhere to go before y'know, it happened. So everything bad that happened there just... congealed together, and it all became one giant zone of negative energy.
Well, because of the trauma impacted on that space by that one event, the energy is at its strongest on the 31st of every year, especially the closer it gets to night time, to the fateful time of that performance... And this imbalance of spiritual to physical energy, well it allows those of the next plane to cross into our own, and vice versa.
Well, it's said that some unlucky souls, especially those who have done wrong... well... they find themselves pulled by the spirit of Kittoo into a world unlike any other. See, in his world, the carnival is alive and well again, the string lights returned, the music playing, all the amusements returned... but they're all very different. Almost like evil versions of their normal world counterparts... Stuff like a Ferris Wheel that goes faster and faster, a rollercoaster that dips into hell itself, and of course... the Funhouse... Kittoo's haunt.
See, that's where he has the most pull, since that's where he performed the most, where his energy held the most sway... Endless halls of mirrors, funhouse slides that go impossible directions, it's supposed to be a realm where everything rational is fake, and everything insane is real.
How do I know this? Dude, don't you remember everyone else talking about it? Y'know, when the asylum shut down, how a lot of the patients were muttering about the fairgrounds? That's right. All of them went on Halloween, they're all witnesses to it.
Anyways, there you have it man, that's why we have to go, come on are you gonna tell me you're chicken or something?
What? You're pussying out and you don't wanna be called what you are? A big fat juicy chicken! Bok bok bok!
See, I knew you'd be up for it.
Oh, sure you can bring your girlfriend, I'll pick you guys up at like, 23:00. You guys better not back out on me this time again like you did with the asylum last year, especially if I drive you two all the way to the fair. In fact, if you don't come in when we do it, I'll just go there anyways dude.
Alright alright I get it, you're not as much of a chicken as I thought, you just better be singing the same tune tomorrow dude. Y'know Kris is coming too, if even Kris is down then you have to come.
Good, alright, see you two lovebirds tomorrow then!

Finally this one is finished and here released! This piece, if I can say so, is totally killer, definitely one of the cooler ones I've done, whether it be the SFW or NSFW versions. I'm really especially happy with how the lighting came out, I decided to try and blend a softer version of some of my properly rendered shading with hard shading and I think it came out pretty rad, and I also did something sort of different for the liquid effects on the cock, balls, and beads.
I'm really excited for this Halloween, I'm gonna be attending Furpocalypse and some of my work is even gonna be in the art show, which I'm really excited about! So for once again it'll be another REAL Halloween, with orange leaves and a chill to the wind, the kinda thing you don't really get where I've been living for a few years. Even put an outfit together and everything!
Thank you guys for your continued support, your patience with my at times really slow time to create these monthly pieces (especially as I've been hyper busy preparing for Furpocalypse), and for being here and pushing me forward.
Here's an album I really like for that sort of whimsical but also spooky Halloween vibe x3
Cheers, and may your Halloween be happy as ever, go trick a tree or fuck a pumpkin~!
