Yeah, protecting the noobs means the noobs get the chance to become overpowered, and I'm expecting many sects are often trying to eliminate the noobs of their enemy sects. After all, that is what happened to MC's family in this world, two siblings were captured while their father was killed.

Elaborate

If the Sect actually routinely sends a higher-level cultivator to make sure the n00bs don't get themselves killed, I'll raise my respect for them by one notch. Most Sects tend to go full-on Darwinism, but since the new recruits are usually fully killable by mortals, it would make sense to at least protect those.

I forgot what MC's age was, but after the whole tournament arc, when he gets back to researching cultivation scientifically, you could do a time skip of a few years, in which MC's body grows so his head is the right/correct proportions for a boy his age. I think 3-4 years might be enough, because he would be roughly 14 by that time, which would mean considerable body growth for many kids. Especially works because we were not told exactly how large his head was, compared to the rest of his body. If you need to differentiate him, you could simply have him unlock the feature of absorbing Ruby into his body, which would come with the downside of a tattoo or mark in a visible place. He might even choose the sign/tattoo he wants, for example showing an atom or solar system, or the graphical interpretation of some very important equation from his previous life, or even a simple word which MC would use to make others think he does have a gift but not one their measly powers can observe, or that he's arrogant, or that someone punished him by giving him that tattoo. For example, the word "progress" with the characters of that sect's language could be the tattoo, or "science", and so on.

Good chapter. My suggestion is that if you are going to keep this book exclusively a web novel then the switch from perspective while doing an “in the last chapter we left our hero in a pickle” bit was fine but could have been shortened or made more interesting. If you want to publish it as a book, then the reader’s definitely going to skim right past that intro, likely with a heavy sigh, an eye-roll, and a distinct lack of appreciation for the ode to 60’s Saturday morning cartoons. My next suggestion is to stop referring to the MC as that big headed kid. I’d honestly go back and switch it out with another deformity. The idea that bigger heads are required for higher intelligence or experience is just factually untrue and takes us back to Saturday cartoons again (it’s those sweet lookin’ ridges and folds that make our thoughtful thinker think better). Make him unnaturally thin and gaunt or something if you want to impress the idea that his body rapidly grew in order to accommodate the MC. That moves him from real life chibi character to sickly young master. Lastly, keep up the good work. It’s been a fun read so far and I’ll be interested to see how the plot unfolds.
