Official Monthly Update
🕑 Added 2025-02-01 20:10:54 +0000 UTCHello, my amazing Patreon supporters!
It’s time for me to have a very candid and vulnerable moment with all of you.
I know it has been some time since my Patreon was active outside of nude art and some other very small updates. I wanted to have a vulnerable and candid moment with everyone who follows me, along with some important updates that will shape the future of my writing.
I’m going to start this post by rewriting an announcement I made on Discord but with some extra data and details. I think this will help illustrate my point moving forward. So, let’s begin!
My vulnerable moment is now. As a lot of you may have noticed, I took a long time to write Dragon Estate 3 and while this was mostly due to a bunch of things, there was a deeply fundamental reason that not even I understood at the time.
I continued to miss deadlines, miss days and days (sometimes weeks or more) of writing, forget loads of obligations frequently and so many other problems that it had strongly interfered with my life. I didn’t understand why I couldn’t just do stuff or remember something from ten seconds ago and why distractions, even small ones, totally ruined my focus.
I haven’t mentioned this before, but I do take medication to treat some health issues. Nothing too crazy, but definitely integral to my life. So, speaking to my doctor and outline my symptoms, she suggested a test or examination for various different conditions.
At this time, I was very bothered that I couldn’t deliver to you, my readers. Without you, I would have nothing. I owe every ounce of my success to all of you (and Misty Vixen, but that’s another story, but affects her equally) and not being able to deliver, especially when I love writing, was a heart-breaking experience.
I remember days of depression, just thinking about, “Why the fuck can’t I just write for more than a minute, why can’t I just stay on point, keep to a task, for more than fucking five minutes,” and other desperate questions.
Well, while we were examining some possible conditions, my doctor suggested we begin treatment for ADHD. She suspected it was possible I had it, but we opted for non-stimulant medication. This mostly didn’t work, unfortunately. It was a very mixed result, mostly raising my anxiety. It didn’t seem to help very much with writing, doing things I needed to do, and other tasks.
Inconsistent, much like my attention.
About a week and a half back, I finally finished a real ADHD test from a reputable platform. The psychologist’s assessment declared I do have ADHD, mainly inattentive type. While I was glad a clear issue was identified, I was still disappointed in medicine.
I almost gave up looking for help when the ADHD doctor I found on the same platform suggested a stimulant. Within half an hour of taking it (I think 25 minutes was what I clocked), I was able to sit down and pick what I could think about, on command. I had suddenly gained some level of control over my thoughts, specifically the speed of them, and what I wanted to focus on instead of all over the place.
I’m going to paste what I told the Discord, here (note this was written several days ago once I began treatment):
Yesterday, I woke up with a to-do list. This includes my writing. To give you an idea, I was only able to write 50 words an hour, maybe 100, before. Not because I hate writing. I love writing. But it was excruciating to focus on as single thing for more than 5 minutes. I had to learn to work with this and while I got "kind of a rhythm" going, it didn't really produce results. I would have to take 45-minute breaks to recharge and quell the anxiety of focusing for a few minutes again. I would never get it all done in one day. The to-do list would go unfinished and, depressed, I would try again the next day. If I did manage to get it done, it took 12 - 14 hours.
Yesterday, I woke up, ate, found my to-do list, took my medicine and, for the very first time ever, completed it (300 words per 10 minutes - 15 minutes)... in under 8 hours WITH time to spare. This is only day four for me (the to-do list was the third day).
My math could be a bit off. Anyway. I've had a life-altering moment happen in the past few days and I'm pretty convinced now all my problems getting in the way of making great books was simply the ADHD. And it's kind of overwhelming to think that, well, that might be fixed now. So, I wanted to give you that insight and look at my life and appreciation for all of you, to anyone who follows me or reads my stuff. And I hope to be more productive moving forward. Thank you for supporting me. I think I have some art I want for the community
So, as you can see, it WORKED. And while it doesn’t last as long as I’d like, and it isn’t as strong as I’d like, it WORKS.
I want to share something else with everyone here I haven’t shared yet: a writing log.
I am taking today off, and possibly tomorrow, but I want to stress that my writing record for more than one day in a row is about 1,000 words at best.
I think this speaks volumes. So, the reason why this update is so massive is because it marks the first post of the year, and the first post of my second favorite month, that things are going to be different moving forward, and forever, permanently. My life has undergone a total paradigm shift in just a week, and the amount of excitement I feel for 2025 cannot be translated effectively to the written word.
Now, stepping aside from that, let’s talk hard numbers.
Vixen A.D. 2 is on track for H1 2025, Dragon Estate 4 is also on track for H1 2025, and Dead Freeze 3 is on track for this month/Q1. Vixen A.D. 3 is also on track for H1 2025, and I can finally start talking about my secret project in a month or so.
I am SO excited.
Another announcement I wanted to make was that I am going to track daily word counts on X/Twitter, so if you want to see that, follow me over there.
