Plans for Real Estate Mod
🕑 Added 2022-04-17 15:48:41 +0000 UTCFirst of all, sorry about the multiple emails this morning. I had to get on a couple critical bug-fixes and wanted to make sure everyone saw the notice to get a new version. This fixed lot ownership problems with retail/vet clinics.
I have a great idea, submitted by my lovely assistant Playalot. She suggested I give you the option on how often rent is paid, in case weekly is a bit boring for you. While I'm going to divide up the rent amounts if you use a faster option, I'm also going to offer you the ability to tune the amount of rent up by 10-50% or so, which will effectively give us a new difficulty option.
The Real Estate earnings are set at 5% plus some boosts based on your star rating. These earnings do not count as income that Gameplay Overhaul will cut, so I think difficulty around them is a great idea.
I see some minor confusion about purchasing lots, so I'd like to make a menu you can use that will show all the lots that can be bought in the different neighborhoods. You do need to be on the lot to buy them, because the way the map view mode works is pretty much hard-coded to the point I had 0 luck trying to modify it.
To help with this, I want to see if I can make some tooltips or make options disappear if you are not on a lot that can be purchased. I think this mod has serious potential, and it's something I've wanted for years so you know I'm going to try to make it better out of sheer passion for the concept. Thanks for your patience, and keep those experience reports coming. I read them even if I can't always respond. I'm making this for all of us, so I want to hear your thoughts and will use them to help shape the direction the mod will take.

No zipped files and everything is checked. The game recognizes the mod but I can't see the aspiration or have any options to buy properties. So frustrating!

I don't remember if the actual download for this is zipped, but it must be unzipped. Also, did you check allow SCRIPT mods below enable mods? Because that is vital.

Hi! New to mods and can’t figure it out, added the files to mod folder, checked off the allow mods box… but nothing. No aspiration, no option to purchase gym or nightclub. I have the lay test update from June. Heap?

ok in build/buy mode decoration dont show up thank gosh, but I would still love to know why the attic box dont work :D

Hi, question, Im trying to take down spooky decorations from the lot, but the attic decorations box wont let me take them down, it say I dont own the lot, but Im playing with the sim that lives in the house, does this have to do with real state mod? cause I want to take some screenshots of the build and I cant without the decoration.

I'm really sorry I missed this message. Is it possible the lot wasn't valid for purchase? I'm going to work on some tests that run beforehand that will make sure it's eligible before showing the option. I apologize.

Hi Carl. I was excited to put this mod in, only problem, after my sim purchases the property, the buy/build buttons are grayed out and it says it is loading. Only problem, it won't stop loading. Am I missing something, quite possible. Lol

You only own the property, you don't actually control the business itself - they're just renting the building from you.

I can't hire employees. The boxes are blue. And if I try to change the menu, my game crashes.
