Sailing Ship
🕑 Added 2020-10-19 20:56:28 +0000 UTCWelcome sailors! This week we would like to introduce you to the "Sailing Ship" map [38x25] has 37 map variants (plus grid, no-grid, JPG, PNG and PDF versions) and 39 assets (ready for Roll20, Foundry or your favourite VTT platform).
Welcome aboard the "Fearless"! The fastest ship in this part of the world! You can discover many mysteries on board and travel to mysterious places...
The creaking of the planks mingled with voices singing shanties to help the paddlers keep pace. They were also meant to keep their spirits up on distant journeys and remind them of what was on land.
On the ocean, the only thought that keeps me awake
is that across the saltwater my lover calls my name
Her hair long, brown, red or blonde
Colour lost somewhere in the abyss of memories
Oh, where is the shore?
They used to remember what life was like on solid ground, but years or maybe even centuries of constant wandering have forced them to sing this song over and over and over again to preserve the remnants of humanity.
The decayed wood began to fall off, revealing the terrifying face of the ship - underneath was a shell woven as if from the mist, inside of which loomed the silhouettes of sailors cursed for eternity.
Their voices, coming out of throats long since worn out, lost their words and the singing turned into a demonic roar that carried across the waters all along the coast.
They themselves no longer remember who they were or what they were cursed for, only an old shanty accompanies them on their journey on the border between life and death. Legend has it that their souls are connected to the sunken ship they raided and whose captain's death wish bound them forever to the cursed vessel.
It is probably possible to free them by giving the captain a decent burial on his native soil, but after so many years it borders on a miracle.
However, other tales and stories describe beautiful women sailing out of the depths of the sea to rescue the lost, so if these are true, perhaps they could help you find the site of an ancient battle?
I used to dream of your curls every night,
now it's just seafoam and a voice
that comes to me from nowhere and screams “woe, woe!”
Beer, fruit, or your mouth, they all have taste of salt
I cannot feel, I cannot run,
There’s only me and I
And my friends, whose faces I can’t recall
Who the hell we were before
I hope this tale will inspire you during your next campaign!
This map will also be available in a dynamic lighting version prepared especially for Foundry VTT for Patrons with tiers $10 and $20!
