The guard is your guide in this city, and before the visit in the tavern he tells you a bit more about this area.
“Right in front of us there’s a castle. Strong walls are very hard to penetrate and in case of the siege there’s a safe place for all the people living inside the city. Right now Harold Dewitt is responsible for everything, because the governor, Selena Greenwood takes care about the taxes from local villages. People love her, thank gods, we cannot afford another revolt. Our previous leader was hanged by the villagers when he came to take away their crops. It was a bad year, they didn’t even have enough food for themselves and they were blaming him for that.
They tied his dead body to the horse and sent him back to the city, so we knew it’s time for changes. At first people were talking that Selena was planning this for a long time, but when they saw how good mayor she is, comments stopped..
If you want to know more about the life in the castle you have to ask someone from the staff. Maids, stabblemen, maybe gardeners would be willing to tell you more, but to be honest I don’t think it’s worth your time.
What, a curse? You don’t think it’s true, right? Of course people talk about the castle being haunted or some idiots think they saw blood coming out of the sewers, but that’s a lie.
And I think you should go now, I’m not in the mood for a drink. Also mind your own business and better don’t ask about these things, it might end badly for you - it’s not a threat, it’s advice. Take care of yourself stranger, you never know who’s listening”
