We're at the end of the first month since release!
🕑 Added 2022-06-01 17:00:10 +0000 UTCTo be completely honest, I really wasn't expecting to have any patrons at all in the first month. This is my first try at making anything like this really, so I didn't know what to expect. Seriously, I downloaded HS2, Ren'Py, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro specifically for this.
(Actually that's a lie, I've played HS2 before, but this is my first try making anything with the studio. The rest of it is true though)
It's been one hell of a learning curve, but I'm mostly happy with what I've made so far, and I'm really happy with the response so far and I'm gonna continue doing my best. I started making this game because I couldn't really find a game that ticked all my boxes.
Over the last few days since the v0.11 release, I've been doing a lot of planning about how the game will develop long term. Mostly about how the planned sandbox elements will work. At this point, I'm actually leaning more towards the idea of having it as more of a branching linear story with occasional sandbox sections, rather than one of those morning / noon / evening be in correct place for event kinda games.
If you've subscribed for the planned sandbox elements, feel free to to message me directly and I'm happy to answer any questions so you can decide whether this is something you still want to support. I want to be as transparent as possible, but nothing is set in stone yet in that regard.
None of that will really be relevant until the next public release anyway (And there's one more patreon only release before that)
For now, it's linear until MC makes it to the academy. He'll be getting there with Riley and Cassie in the next patreon content update. I'm not gonna pretend I have every aspect planned out ahead of time, but for the most part, we're all good.
I've got a discord server in the works which will become my main place for user interaction (Though I'll still respond here as well of course).
Until it's released, please feel free to let me know here if there are any other things you guys might be interested in that I could add to the tier bonuses. I've seen some pretty crazy shit on other projects that people are apparently willing to pay for, but I've tried to keep it tame for now since I'm just one person who has a full time job on top of this.
Thank you to all you early supporters. It's a weird feeling to have people put money where their mouth is when it comes to supporting a thing you made. I've never experienced it before, and it's validating in a weird kinda way. I'll do my best. If you're in the UK enjoy the long weird weekend, and if you're not, enjoy whatever is happening for you over the next few days. Cya nerds
(Next update is probably near the end of June, I wanna make this one a bit longer than the 0.11 update)
The above turned out to be BS. It took me until the end of July lol. In fairness though, the update is longer.
