[Rough] OA v0.5.3: Android release, New OSX build process, some bug fixes, content from dress up build.
🕑 Added 2024-05-26 08:25:05 +0000 UTCThis month I didn't do as much with the build as I wanted, I wanted to solve all the level up issues, but the subject simply became too daunting to both fix and test. As such I decided to disable most of the level up dialogue for now and return to it after the Unity 6 transition. And then instead I focused on a few bug fixes and fixing some soft locks.
Unity has revamped how their Cloud Build system works so the game is no longer too large for the service, so I've been able to do Mac builds with the service and I'm hoping this will produce higher quality builds for Mac users hopefully with less weird zip file issues. I still can't personally test these, but they should at least be as functional as PC builds.
Additionally, I managed to get the android build done, with a bonus of reduced memory usage due to reducing shader variants. The game should now work on more devices, sadly I cannot fix issues with camera control or the issue with being unable to change player colors on some devices.
Beyond that as I said there's a few bug fixes, and some fixes for some soft locks, and things like flashlight work again (I think I rewrote that and didn't reimplement it).
Thats all for now, just a short update. Onward to Unity 6! And a specially thing I should have ready in a couple days.

anyone resolve how to get the game to open on a mac after unzipping? the demo version works fine, but the full zersion says it cannot open it. and no, this is not that it doesn't recognize the developer

Hello. The v0.5.3.a app on Android 14 doesn't allow me to save my progress.

For those working on getting the mac version running, please see this link: https://discussions.unity.com/t/the-application-cannot-be-opened/627211/4 The prior video is for a different issue. If you're getting the error for an unidentified developer, usually this workaround is to go to the Security preferences tab in Settings and tell it to open anyway. The error in this case is a little different in that it simply says it can't be opened, which means something is either corrupt or permissions have not been set properly. See the above link to address the executable bit issue with Unity launcher.
