All right, guys! I need your help [new concept art]
🕑 Added 2025-01-08 18:35:00 +0000 UTCI made generic designs for the infantry! I need your feedback! It's your future impressions so it's important. What are the best designs for you and do you like them?
Depending on your answers, a squad of 5 will go out this month :)

Yes, of course! But as usual I'm going to make different parts (arms, torso, leg, head, etc...).

Sounds like an excellent idea! I think modularity is important too, seperate chest, leg, arm, pauldron pieces, that sorta thing
mael bazoin
Okay, what I can do is make a “basic” armor and in the coming months, make variants with different details, additional fabrics, captains with these improved armors, etc. ... I think it could be a good idea :) What do you think? (so you'll have several design options)

I love the classic M7 look to death, of course. If you're looking for variety in that, there's always spicing up various parts of it, different kneepads, neck guards, (as seen in SM1 and other artwork from around then), and I think playing with alternate robe designs could be cool? I'm a fan of a robe wrapping around the waist and legs from behind and the sides rather than the traditional tabard look, like a leg-cape. There's also this old piece of concept art I could dig up where devestators had extra plates and blast curtains of chainmail they'd drape over parts of their armour.

You won't be disappointed, I've just redrawn this helmet in a bigger size and I'll post the new sketch in a few minutes ;) thank you very much for your feedback.
Spear Sigma
I love top left in the first picture the helmet gives me tau vibes and I've always enjoyed spacemarines as other factions, the second images pack with double thrusters is fantastic and would love to use that with gravis sized marines, as though the slightly larger armor has a bigger power pack to support it.
mael bazoin
That means you like the general shape! That's the principle :) I can then modify certain parts to make it more to your liking :)

I love the bulkiness of the two right sided marines on the first pic. But I'm also a fan of no kneecaps and just really long shin guards for a "heavier" plating feel. That said, my favorites of the bodys on the second pic are the two at the bottom and the backpack with the thrusters to the side. The thrusters to the side feel like a needed boost to rush forward to compensate for the heavy armor.

Given the feedback I think I'll have to make them ;). As for the size, they'll be primaris, but I'll buy firstborns for test prints and I'll give you the discount coefficient for printing them in firstborn size :)
Ryan Loken
I love the more angular look of the ones from the first image! Also, are these going to be heresy scale or old scale firstborn?
mael bazoin
Thanks bro !! Yes, there will surely be a version with these helmets! :)
Robyn
I love these designs, the bulkiness is great! I would love to see some versions of the Mk 7 helmets amongst them
mael bazoin
Yes, they should be compatible! I made it in primaris size :). I hope to see pictures of your creations once printed ;)
Christopher Szilagyi
I mean, they're all pretty cool. Another thought. Also important to me and a lot of other folks for armored super soldiers is compatibility with other heads/shoulders/backpacks like the ones Marta/Grey Tide/etc make ... and ya know, those popular plastic kits 😄
mael bazoin
Too good !!!! I hope you like everything when it's printed at home :)
mael bazoin
Great!! so overall you like everything :) I'll try to do it all and give it my all as usual :)
mael bazoin
I'd love to come up with tons of designs, but unfortunately my days are only 24 hours long ^^.
mael bazoin
Then a squad of this figurine will surely be made ;)
mael bazoin
All right! Then both types of figurine will surely be made ;)
mael bazoin
I'm so glad you like it! Maybe soon in your printer ;) Actually I love the designs I've made but I don't know if you'll like them so I wanted to ask for your opinion first to make sure I didn't create something you wouldn't print :). But yes, a general feedback on your favorites, your suggestions on each parts/figures would suit me perfectly. :)
mael bazoin
OK, I'll take note! I love this model too! No worries about the position and the weapons. This position is just to show the armor but it will have several different positions with particular weapons don't worry !!! As for the rivets, I'd use them too!
mael bazoin
Yes, I've made some simple models, they don't have much detail but I like them! I'll take note of your comment and see what I come up with.

for me the top right then bottom right on the first pic are the best and the 1st and 3rd backpack as well. All look awesome though.
Christopher Szilagyi
Top right in first picture. There are very few sculpts out there that have that nice bottom robe that wraps around the back and sides. Really allows for cool sculpts. Bottom right tabard in the second picture. Allows for future chest decorations. Third backpack is the coolest with the top armor panels and those nice tubes/cables
Bongzilla
Loving all the designs right now. Would love tons of options for helmets, especially more Chaos themed ones. Also plumage would be baller.
Pierre Rohn
Top right in the first picture would be awesome
SuperSaltLee
The top right knight is my favorite, and the bottom right tabard is also preferred
Wulfmundr
Loving the designs so far! Really love the look of the Marines with the raised foot especially the shoulders pads! Bottom pistol looks really cool and chunky (which I like)! Overall well done my friend. Was there any particular feedback you were looking for or just general feedback?
EvilAmun
On the First Pic I Like The character on the top right. Maybe raise The left arm pointing Forward with a sword or another Weapon. On the Second Pic i Like The top Backpack and The bottom one. The Bodys and The Helmets Look all nice. Maybe a Riveted Version of those Bodys and helmets would be nice.
Astrolithic
Tabards are always great! As are dynamic poses for sgts and characters ( I like the chainsword on the shoulder pose). My relictors are borrowing a lot of bits from both Templars and Dark Angels so these releases have been great!.
