Chapter 681 BEAK HQ
🕑 Added 2025-10-01 02:09:38 +0000 UTCSoon after, Zaboru received a call from Liam, who informed him that he would be waiting at the airport. Their flight to Brazil was scheduled for that very night. They would be heading to São Paulo specifically, where Liam already had temporary lodging arranged. With accommodations secured, everything was set for Zaboru, Liam, and Carlos to travel together without any issues.
On Wednesday the 12th June, in the early afternoon, Zaboru, Liam, and Carlos touched down at São Paulo International Airport. After disembarking and collecting their luggage, they made their way through the bustling terminal, stepping into the vibrant heat of Brazil. From there, they quickly headed to Liam's temporary lodging to settle in. They placed their belongings, took a short rest, and enjoyed a quick local meal to recharge.
Not long after, the three were on the road again, this time en route to BEAK Headquarters. Carlos drove his personal car, while Zaboru and Liam sat comfortably, taking in the view from the windows. As they navigated through the lively streets of São Paulo, Zaboru found himself quietly smiling as he admired the surroundings. The city had a certain energy—busy but not chaotic, urban yet not overwhelming. It was cleaner than he had expected, and the mix of cultures visible on every corner intrigued him.
Noticing Zaboru’s quiet smile, Carlos glanced at him in the rearview mirror and chuckled. “Zaboru-san, if you’d like, I can take you for a proper walk through the city later. There are some great spots worth seeing.”
Zaboru turned from the window and returned the smile. “I’d like that. Do you know any good restaurants? I’m curious about the local food.”
Carlos beamed with pride. “Born and raised here! I know this city like the back of my hand. Don’t worry—I know just the places to take you. You’ll get the best of what São Paulo has to offer.”
Zaboru nodded in appreciation. The tone was set—this trip was already starting off on the right foot.
Not long after, Zaboru arrived at BEAK HQ. From the outside, it had the typical look and feel of a distributor warehouse—functional, industrial, and designed for logistics. However, the moment he stepped inside, the atmosphere began to shift. Carlos, full of pride, led both Zaboru and Liam through the main gates and into BEAK’s official office building.
“This way, gentlemen,” Carlos said with a smile as he opened the door to a modest but well-kept four-story office structure.
“Here’s our headquarters,” he announced proudly.
Zaboru nodded in approval. The interior was tidy and efficient. Desks were occupied by focused employees who worked diligently yet still found time to greet their boss warmly as he passed by. The energy was strong, and there was a rhythm to the place—a sense of movement and control.
Carlos continued explaining as they walked. “This is where we handle finance, customer communication, logistics planning—all the administrative stuff you’d expect. Nothing fancy, but it runs like clockwork. We've set up dedicated teams for inbound calls, invoicing, shipment tracking, and data entry. Everything’s centralized here.”
Zaboru took mental notes. The structure was solid, and the team looked engaged.
“Alright,” Carlos said, rubbing his hands together with excitement. “Now let’s take a look at the real heart of BEAK—our main warehouse.”
He led them through a secured corridor that opened into a massive space bustling with activity. As soon as Zaboru stepped inside, his eyes widened. The warehouse was far larger and cleaner than he had anticipated. Industrial shelving stood in precise rows, housing electronics of every kind. Conveyor belts hummed steadily, moving packages efficiently. Workers—dressed in uniforms and equipped with gloves and tags—were busy loading and organizing cargo.
Forklifts glided through the lanes, and overhead cranes shifted large pallets onto trucks parked in the loading bays. Each truck bore the BEAK logo proudly printed on its side, and the entire space smelled of fresh packaging and clean floors.
The scene reminded Zaboru more of a high-tech logistics hub than a traditional warehouse. It was impressive—streamlined, professional, and humming with momentum.
“It’s quite big and really clean,” Zaboru said, genuinely impressed as he scanned the warehouse.
Carlos nodded enthusiastically. “It is! We prioritize hygiene above all else—cleanliness is non-negotiable here. That’s mostly thanks to my father. He was a total clean freak, to be honest,” Carlos said with a sheepish smile. “He implemented strict cleanliness policies from the very beginning. Daily inspections, no food or drink near inventory zones, regular deep cleaning—it’s all part of our culture now. Typical Japanese discipline, I guess.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Carlos’s eyes widened. He suddenly looked nervous, realizing he may have spoken a bit too casually. “Zaboru-san, I didn’t mean—”
But Zaboru chuckled and placed a reassuring hand on Carlos’s shoulder. “Relax, it’s fine,” he said with a warm smile.
Carlos let out a relieved sigh, visibly grateful, while Liam just shook his head and sighed with amusement. “Carlos, seriously... come on,” he muttered, unable to suppress a grin.
The three of them continued exploring the warehouse, with Carlos leading the way as their enthusiastic guide. They observed each section closely, from incoming inventory to the final packaging areas, taking note of how streamlined the entire operation was. After walking through several zones, they eventually made their way into Carlos’s office—a neat, medium-sized space filled with logistical charts, framed certificates, and a few nostalgic family photos on the desk.
Once they were seated, Carlos offered them some water before leaning back, waiting for Zaboru’s thoughts. Zaboru looked around the room, then met Carlos’s eyes with a smile and a confident nod.
“I’m really impressed,” he said. “Honestly, I think we can work together just fine.”
Carlos grinned, clearly proud of the validation. “That means a lot, Zaboru-san.”
Without missing a beat, Zaboru shifted the conversation to business. “So, let’s talk numbers. How much are you willing to sell 50% of BEAK for?”
Carlos didn’t hesitate. “As of now, BEAK is valued at over 40 million dollars. Based on that, I’m asking 20 million for a 50% stake. That’s the current market value.”
Zaboru nodded. “That’s quite a fair price, and honestly, I don’t see any issues on my end. As for the manufacturers, we can discuss that in more detail later. ZAGE’s legal team will officially visit this month to finalize the acquisition of 50% of BEAK. Once that’s complete, we can begin working together—probably within a few days.”
Liam nodded in agreement. “Leave it to me, boss. I’ll handle the coordination and give Mr. Kirby a call right away.”
Zaboru smiled. “Perfect, Liam. And of course, I’ll be present for everything. But for now—let’s find some food. I’m absolutely starving.”
Carlos grinned and nodded. “Let’s go!”
He led the way through the streets of São Paulo, heading toward a district commonly labeled as a slum. However, the term didn’t do the area justice—despite the name, it was a modest but well-kept residential neighborhood. Houses stood side by side with colorful facades, balconies adorned with potted plants, and the sounds of music and conversation drifting from open windows. The streets were lively and full of character.
Carlos stopped in front of a small corner restaurant tucked between two brick buildings. The smell of rich spices and grilled meats wafted through the air. “This,” he said proudly, gesturing toward the humble eatery, “is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at.”
Zaboru was visibly excited but looked a little lost as he scanned the unfamiliar menu. “Umm, Carlos, what do you recommend?” he asked, eyebrows furrowed in curiosity.
Carlos grinned with enthusiasm. “Start with Feijoada or Moqueca—both are perfect for your first Brazilian meal. Feijoada is a hearty black bean stew with pork, and Moqueca is a rich seafood stew with coconut milk and spices. Trust me, you’ll love either one.”
Zaboru nodded, placing his order for Feijoada without hesitation. Liam followed with the same choice, intrigued by Carlos’s recommendation.
Not long after, their meals arrived, steaming and full of enticing aromas. The presentation was simple, but the smell was overwhelming in the best way possible. As Zaboru took his first bite, his eyes widened. The savory depth of the Feijoada hit his taste buds like a symphony of flavor.
“Whoa… this is insanely good,” he muttered, then quickly dove in, shoveling spoonful after spoonful with growing speed. Within minutes, his plate was empty.
Carlos and Liam watched in disbelief as Zaboru, usually composed and measured, turned into a full-blown eating machine. He didn’t pause. He didn’t speak. He just ate with intense, joyful focus.
By the time he finished, he looked up, wiped his mouth, and said with complete seriousness, “Another serving!”
Carlos burst out laughing. “You sure can eat, Zaboru-san! I didn’t expect this side of you!”
Zaboru chuckled and shrugged. “When the food is this good, I lose all control.”
Liam leaned back and grinned. “We may need to delay the return flight. At this rate, he’s going to eat his way through the entire city.”
After a while, Zaboru finally finished—having eaten an incredible six full servings of Feijoada. His appetite stunned even the kitchen staff. As he leaned back in his chair with a satisfied grin, he insisted on paying more than the bill, tipping generously as a thank-you for the outstanding meal.
With their stomachs full and spirits high, the three of them decided to explore more of São Paulo. Carlos acted as their unofficial tour guide, showing off hidden corners of the city and explaining bits of its history and culture. They walked through bustling shopping streets, admired colonial-era architecture, and even stopped at a few street performers who livened up the atmosphere with traditional music.
Eventually, they made their way to Morumbi Stadium, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Zaboru, a casual football fan, was curious to see the legendary venue in person. The group took a brief guided tour, laughing at Carlos's exaggerated sports commentary, and admiring the vastness of the arena.
The sun began to dip below the skyline as they returned to Liam’s lodging. It had been a full day—business, food, culture, and good company. As they settled back in for the night, Zaboru stretched and let out a contented sigh.
“Tomorrow, before I head back to the U.S.,” he said with a smirk, “I might just squeeze in one last food run. Probably try new dish hehehe"
