Chapter 572 “Red Falcon” Part 2
🕑 Added 2025-08-11 01:55:54 +0000 UTCPark Woojin began to explain, "For the Korean audience, if Red Falcon ever secures the official distribution rights for ZAGE, the plan is relatively straightforward. We'd begin with traditional promotional efforts like flyers, posters, and local TV commercials. We'd also engage in in-store demonstrations at popular gaming retail outlets to give people a hands-on experience. Using Korean language in all advertising is essential, not just for translation, but to culturally align the messaging and tone with what resonates here. Moreover, launching with a local event or gaming tournament could create significant buzz. If we combine all these elements, I believe we’ll have a strong chance of capturing the Korean market’s interest and loyalty."
Zaboru nods, “As for China Audience..?”
Park WooJin then began to explain, "For the Chinese audience, our first and most important step should be to increase awareness that bootleg console games are actually counterfeit. While it's true that many consumers might not care at first, raising public consciousness could gradually shift perspectives—especially in such a massive market like China. Even if only a small percentage begin to understand and value authentic content, that number could still represent millions of potential new players for ZAGE.
Furthermore, we need to invest in local distribution networks, perhaps forming partnerships with existing retail chains to ensure accessibility. The Chinese market is much larger than Korea's, so our expansion must be broader in scope—more retail presence, more localization, and a dedicated customer service team fluent in Mandarin. Red Falcon is fully prepared for this scale of growth, and we’ve already started laying the groundwork for these steps.".
Zaboru nodded and smiled. “Mr. Park Woojin, why are you explaining all of this to me? Even though we’re not officially partners yet?”
Park Woojin sighed and explained, "Well… to be honest, Mr. Renkonan, I'm really desperate. I’ve been working tirelessly on a massive plan for ZAGE’s expansion into both the Korean and Chinese markets. This isn't just another business deal to me—if it goes through, it could completely redefine the future of Red Falcon. I’ve poured years of planning, personal savings, and late nights into shaping a vision that I truly believe in. It’s all aligned with ZAGE’s own growth potential, and I believe this partnership could become something truly revolutionary for both of us. I’m willing to give it everything I’ve got—my time, my energy, and every bit of heart I have for this industry. And to be fair, I imagine ZAGE is already thinking along the same lines when it comes to growing its presence in China and Korea, right?"
Zaboru chuckled—this guy was quite funny. Although he clearly exaggerated a bit, it was obvious that he was genuinely desperate. Yet something about him felt honest, sincere. Zaboru sensed that this man could be trusted. After a brief pause, he leaned forward and asked one last question.
“Do you love video games, Mr. Park Woojin?”
Park Woojin nodded with a warm smile. “I love them with all my heart, Mr. Renkonan. Especially PC games. Before Diablo was ever released, I was already hooked on titles like DOOM and Warcraft. I spent countless hours blasting demons in DOOM and strategizing armies in Warcraft. Those games shaped how I see this entire industry. And now that Diablo has finally been released by ZAGE? It’s become my instant favorite! The atmosphere, the gameplay, the lore—I enjoy every single minute I spend playing it .”
Zaboru smiled and said, "Fair enough. To be honest, I'm interested. But let me ask you something—right now, how much of your company's shares do you own?"
Park Woojin replied confidently, "Well, I own 80% of it."
Zaboru grinned. "Then let me propose this—I'll purchase 45% of Red Falcon for 10 million dollars. In addition, ZAGE will provide a capital injection of 50 million dollars to support Red Falcon's expansion into China and Korea."
Park Woojin’s eyes widened in disbelief. This deal was beyond anything he had hoped for. "I… I accept, Mr. Renkonan!"
Zaboru chuckled. "Don’t be too hasty. Tomorrow, we’ll draw up the official contract. And next week, I’ll visit Red Falcon’s offices personally. I’ll travel with you to Korea. Is that acceptable?"
Park Woojin nodded eagerly. He agreed to everything without hesitation.
Zaboru then asked, "Do you think it's possible for us to acquire a manufacturing company in China or Korea? That way, ZAGE could produce and expand its product line directly within those markets."
Park Woojin paused for a moment, deep in thought, before responding, "I think that's definitely possible. Once we're back in Korea, I can start looking into it right away. You see, in China, there are a number of former electronic manufacturing companies that are barely staying afloat. Many of them are sitting on valuable infrastructure and experienced labor, just waiting for a second chance. If we act quickly and strategically, we can acquire or partner with some of them. It would give us a huge production advantage, especially for scaling ZAGE hardware and peripherals in both markets."
Zaboru smiled, clearly pleased by the proactive mindset. "Sure thing then. That’s excellent news—sounds like a solid opportunity."
Then Park Woojin left the ZAGE offices with a wide, unmistakable grin stretched across his face. The future he had long envisioned for Red Falcon was no longer just a dream—it was taking shape. The path to expand into both China and Korea had officially opened through this groundbreaking partnership. The pieces were finally coming together.
Zaboru might get scolded by Sayuri for making another bold investment, but that didn’t matter to either of them. This wasn’t a gamble; it was a calculated, strategic leap forward. One that would position ZAGE as a true international contender. The opportunity was simply too important to ignore, too ripe to pass up. For Park Woojin, it was more than business—it was the first step toward a future he'd been chasing for years.
Zaboru leaned back in his chair. "China and Korea, huh... both are really different in this world." In this version of reality, Japan, Korea, and China were cooperative. It wasn’t unusual at all to see Korean companies opening branches in Japan, Chinese corporations operating in Korea, or Japanese firms setting up in China. Cross-national collaborations were the norm rather than the exception. Even more remarkably, the people from all three countries genuinely respected one another—a rare harmony that made doing business across borders much easier for him. The usual tension and political noise that existed in his previous world seemed to be missing here, and Zaboru couldn't help but appreciate how smoothly things worked between the three nations.
Zaboru grinned. "Maybe in 1996, I can officially bring a World Wide ZAGE Tournament that includes the LATAM region too. Who knows?" He chuckled at the thought, his eyes sparkling with excitement. The idea of uniting players from across the globe—especially without the presence of Korean and Chinese competitors—felt incomplete.
"Without Korea and Chinese players, the future of the e-sports scene will be lonely," he murmured to himself, half-joking but entirely sincere. He could already imagine the roaring crowds, the intense matches, and the rise of new champions from every corner of the world.
