Those three episodes definitely 100% do not cover "all you need to know to understand the references in The Mandalorian."
Travis Moody
The DisneyXD YouTube channel has taken all the animated episodes that relate to Mandalorians and the war on Mandalore and put it into a three part video series. It is a little over two hours and covers all you need to know to understand the references in The Mandalorian. It is from the Star Wars Rebel series that takes place between episodes 3 and 4 of the movies. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EcNCLMgvBb8

Mando hates droids because droids killed his parents (seen in flashbacks in episodes 1 and 3).

The pilot of the prison ship provides the voice of Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars.

The female Twi'lek is Osha from Game of Thrones (the wilding woman that helped Bran and Rickon escape with Hodor). She also played Tonks in the Harry Potter movies. Actress name is Natalia Tena.

I love the scene where baby Yoda is trying to use the force to defend against Zero and then, before realizing it was Mando who shot him, he looks at his hand with that "did I do that?" expression <3
