Subaru's has so much on his plate that he forgot that someone could have such a pure motivation as just trying to help his friend. As you can see by Subaru's past, he didn't have any friends so it was just so out of his realm of possibilities that he didn't even consider it. Probably one of my favorite moments of the season (there are a lot)
The sight
just a suggestion but if ur ever looking for a solid fighting anime i would recommend kengan ashura. it is VERY good (in my opinion)
