Hey Lax! Is good to be back! When Ippo says that in Pro Boxing stuffs like this happens, remember that Ippo has been cheated like that before… Even in the beginning of his career. Probably Ippo was talking about the mentality of being prepared for WHATEVER you’re enemy throws at you. This was Itagaki’s first match, but best believe… He learns from this and gets better.

Itagaki was definitely cheated, but Ippo's perspective is very much of "Regardless of cheating, you should've rose above it" because Ippo fought dirty fighters before. He has been headbutted before in a boxing match but continued fighting, so its definitely tough love.

Itagaki was hoe’d by the ref and crowd but I feel ippo was spitting. You can’t always rely on the ref to catch the opponent playing dirty(even though it’s their job lol) Dirty fighting has popped up a lot and will it’s not encouraged it does happen. It happened to kimura vs mashiba, ippo vs yoshio (when he was a high school student) etc Itagaki probably would have won if he didnt stop and wait for the refs call. But it’s a learning experience

Exactly! They tried to use the fact that he was still a rookie but come on there are still rules. I know it happens but dirty boxing can’t be rewarded.
