Yeah after rewatching the episode I see the ending more clearly. Also anytime Alfie is on screen I’m never disappointed. He always delivers.

For more context, the whole family getting locked up was caused by Chief Constable (I believe was said in season 2 to be in higher position than Churchill) trying to bring the family down, I assume its because he was working with the priest. And Tommy said he made a deal with someone even more powerful to save them all eventually. He was not personally involved with any of the killing (he was not present, it was his people that did it) which is why he wasn't arrested. But do not let the chaotic ending distract you from Tom Hardy's / Alfie's iconic performance. What an actor.
