I agree that Stark shouldn't try for the sword for a couple reasons. The major one is that they don't have an enemy to fight and getting swarmed by monsters isn't worth it. Second is that Stark probably thinks that Stoltz was the one to deserve it, likely he thought of his brother when he looked at it
