Remember in episode 18, Frieren was telling Fern that she lost 11 times before to various people with less mana than her. And the race which had the most amounts of wins over her was the humans (4 demons 1 elf 6 humans)

Yeah I can definitely tell Serie cared for Flamme and it probably just took time for her to process similar to Frieren and her journey

Serie is silly, says she won't honor Flamme's wishes but then sets up a Magical Association herself 1000 years later after Frieren beats the Demon King. Frieren is probably glad that the age of humans is here and they can live without fearing the Demon King forces. It also speaks to her wanting to help people and learn the spells of humans
