When the Supreme Archangel sacrificed himself to save Creation, there were so many little changes built into it that no one, human, angel, or demon, has been able to catalog them all yet. One of them was ensuring that his love would be well and truly free from Hell's control for eternity. But Crowley doesn't give a blessing about his freedom - he doesn't even want eternity if he can't spend it with his angel.

He still is a demon but is in an angelic body. Vice versa for Az. Don't think I need to say any more.
