you might not know you have seen them before but, brian altemus (shane / regina's bf) also played tyler in PLL : original sin, one of the head jocks. also angourie rice (cady) plays betty in the mcu spiderman movies, the one who dates ned in far from home !

I don't think Regina has a big whole backstory of why she's mean, I feel like she just likes power and she saw how easy it was to get in both versions. Kinda how Cady got sucked in but she realized that she was being wrong
