the problem with brent is that he thinks he has done nothing wrong because he’s in the “good place” if he knew he was in the bad place then he would realize what he does is wrong and then try to change because of it

I agree that the mistake they did with Brett was that they let him believe he belonged in the good place. They tried to let him know that he doesn't belong here but they did it subtly, which went completely over his head. They should have done what they did with Eleanor in season 1, show him fake memories and stuff to let him know that they got the wrong person.
