Another good prime show that I think you would love is The Marvelous Mrs Maisel!

Usually you email us at juli.patreon1@gmail.com and we work out everything there .. but as I said right now Juli is not taking on any new sponsored shows. We will let you know ofc if that becomes a possibility again though.

Isabella

All good! Just want to understand how it works more than anything

I love the take that Eric Kripke and the writers take on superheroes here. If they were real, they wouldn't have to follow any rules or care about the damage they create which people don't mind in fiction, but would absolutely care in reality. Also the take that the superhero genre is a corporate machine that cares less about helping people and more about the bottom line and power moves is totally valid. I also love how dark the show gets and how they walk the line between funny and serious very well. btw: the showrunner has also created Supernatural and Timeless, so he knows what he's doing ;)

right now there can’t be any new sponsored shows bc the sponsored shows Juli is watching rn have been sponsored a loooooong time ago ... I am sorry, but she needs to focus on those first. :)

Also this show doesn't take place in the DC or Marvel worlds. The writer of the comics actually dislikes superheroes and wrote "the boys" as a satire on them. Maeve and Homelander are total wonder woman and superman/Captain America combo stand ins. A-Train/the Flash, Black Noir/Batman, and "the deep" is a play off of aquaman lol. And the seven are a play on the justice league.

I think this is how people would really be if they had superpowers. Money and power corrupts. I think that this show is a great commentary on that. Celebrities, musicians, athletes get away with so much because they make so much money for so many people. And the public turns a blind eye b/c they love them. Another aspect I think is interesting is how the superheroes are compared with cops when Hughie mentions that neither can be charged for damages on the job. If you think about it superheroes do kinda do what cops are supposed to. They fight crime. But we can see with what is going on right now, some cops abuse their power. So, I think that superheroes absolutely would too if they were real.

Isabella

Hey, how do you sponsor seasons of shows? I’m wondering how it all works and I read the rules on the patreon page but I’m just a little confused 😊

D308x

And those characters are in a different world from dc and marvel and I love it

Loved your reaction i didn’t know anything about this comic so I watched with zero knowledge of anything about the show I was shocked in the best way looking forward to watching your reaction to the other episodes each episode is crazier than the one before it
