I am in the opposite position. Yes, I was disappointed by the NMS initial launch. There was very little there to like. I have stuck with them though because I saw the potential and I wanted to believe that they would reach it unlike so many other AAA titles. I am very happy that I did stick with them because I now have over 1000 hours in the game and I love every bit of it. Each update adds something else to do and experience. Somehow I never get tired of playing NMS.

NMS is a brilliant example of why the phrase "first impressions are lasting impressions" exists. To many people, it doesn't matter *how* amazing those updates are, that first experience was bad, and there are so many other options for games out there that they'll never give it the time of day again. Personally, I fall into that category. I tried it a second time a couple years after it's initial disastrous release, still wasn't really impressed, and threw it in the bin of games I no longer care about at all. Sorry, Sean. You fucked up that first step, released too early and with half of your promised features and content and implied worth unfulfilled, and as a result chased off the vast majority of any possible customer base you'd ever have had. And frankly, in the process, burned EA games as a whole. NMS is, imo, the catalyst of people growing up and realizing that not every EA game is going to fulfill its promises, and becoming *way* more reluctant and wary of EA as a whole.
