Jessica's New Doll

Abigail hesitated at Jessica’s door. She was anxious. Excited. Uncertain. What was she going to say?
She turned and started to leave. Turned back. Turned away again. Took a breath. Bit her lip and knocked.
Jessica answered the door, still in her pajamas even though it was almost noon.
“Abigail! Hi!” she said brightly. “What brings you here?”
Abigail took another breath. “Well, um, I…” she paused.
“Keep thinking about last night?” Jessica offered.
“Yeah,” Abigail said. “I’m sorry, I’m not sure what I’m doing here. I just kind of wanted to see you.”
Last night they’d been playing board games as a group when the topic of hypnosis had come up, and Jessica had put a few people under and given everyone a good laugh at how silly they could be made to act. She hadn’t been surprised by the knock on her door - there was usually at least one person in any small group that found they had enjoyed it. She was a bit surprised that it was Abigail. Abigail usually preferred to be a ringleader.
“Come on in,” Jessica said, stepping aside to open the door wider. “Tell me what’s on your mind.”
Abigail gratefully accepted the invitation. She still wasn’t sure what she wanted to say, but she was relieved that she was welcome.
After it became clear that Abigail was stuck, Jessica asked, “Are you looking for another trance?”
“Um, I think. Yeah. Is that weird?” Abigail asked uncertainly.
“Not at all. But I’m folding laundry right now, so how about I give you a pretty spiral to stare at while we talk?”
Jessica opened her computer and brought up a spiral that filled the screen. She spun the chair toward Abigail, who sat slowly and then turned to the spiral.
“What should I do here?” she asked.
“Just watch the screen and relax,” Jessica answered as she resumed folding. “And tell me what you’ve been feeling about last night.”
“Oh, um, well…” Abigail was blushing now.
“Don’t think too hard about it, dear,” Jessica told her. “Just take a breath and start talking. It’ll be easy once you start.”
Abigail took a breath and started talking. “I had fun last night. More fun than I expected. It’s weird because the idea of being controlled like that should bother me but I actually found it really comforting. Like I didn’t have to worry about anything, I could just follow you and things would be okay. It’s weird but it turned me on.”
She blushed again. She hadn’t planned to admit that, but once she started talking she just found it easy to keep going.
“Tell me why that’s weird,” Jessica prompted.
“I’m not into girls,” Abigail said, still watching the spiral. “But I keep thinking about how you made me feel.”
“It felt good, right?”
“Yes. So good.” Abigail’s hands were moving against her thighs as she remembered what she had felt like last night.
“Then just focus on that, dear,” Jessica told her. “Focus on how good it feels and don’t worry about the rest. You can do that, right?”
“I think so.”
“Don’t think, honey. Just relax. Relax, watch the spiral, focus on feeling good. Can you do that for me?”
“Yes.”
“Good girl.”
Abigail trembled and bit her lip. Her eyes rolled back slightly before refocusing on the screen.
“Now, Abigail, tell me: What was your favorite part of last night?”
“When you posed me like a doll,” she answered, voice sounding far away. “I couldn’t move. I couldn’t think. All I could do was stand there and let you play with me. It made me feel… I don’t know. But I liked it.”
“Good girl.”
She trembled again. She liked when Jessica praised her. Her hands were pressed against her jeans and some distant part of her mind told her that she might’ve been happier in a skirt today.
“Would you like to be my doll again now?”
“Yes, I’d love to.”
“Wonderful. Stand up and walk to me so I can pose you.”
For the first time in several minutes, Abigail turned away from the screen. She felt like she was in a dream as she walked to Jessica. Felt like she was floating, and like Jessica was the only thing that really existed.
“Good doll.”
Abigail felt a thrill of pleasure as Jessica started posing her. She couldn’t think, couldn’t move. All she could do was stand there and let Jessica play with her. Like a toy. A happy, mindless toy. Jessica’s toy.
Jessica’s hands were warm against her skin, making small adjustments now in the angle of her face and the way her hair fell. It felt good to be played with. Jessica was praising her as she worked, telling her what a pretty doll she was, how perfectly blank her mind must be. How lovely she looked with that vacant smile on her face. The doll beamed with pride.
When the doll stood with her legs spread and her hands behind her head, hair falling perfectly over her shoulders, Jessica stepped back to admire her work. The doll felt Jessica’s eyes on her, felt herself on display. She hoped that Jessica was pleased, that she was a pretty doll. It felt important to be a pretty doll for Jessica.
After a few moments, Jessica spoke again.
“Now, I’m going to get myself a cup of tea and admire my doll for a few minutes. When I’m done with my tea, I’ll wake you and we can chat for a bit. For right now, just stand there and look pretty for me. Show me what a good doll you are.”
