Compressing the art a little bit? (Patrons Only Poll)
🕑 Added 2022-05-06 03:11:45 +0000 UTCLewd by Daylight's android version has passed the 1GB of itch.io's file upload limit. This is due to the ultra HD art that the game contains. Would you be okay if I compress some of the art down?
The current maximum quality is 4096p. The next compression limit that Unity allows is 2048p (this is still very high quality). For context, this will only affect art past 2048p.
For example the art in Kate's, Claudette's, Meg's, and David's stories will remain unaffected. But the Season-themed arts in the Space Rift will all be affected. However, you can only really tell the difference if you look at the art using the zoom button at x6 magnification.
If 'Go ahead' wins, I'll compress the art and will keep uploading builds directly on itch.io. If 'Please don't' wins, I'll upload the android version on some different file storing service like Google Drive and simply paste the link to it on my itch page.

UPDATE: The compression did wonders and the file went from 1GB to 700MB. I'll still keep this poll up as a decider for future builds. But for now, v.0.27 is going with the new compression method

Go for it. I don't think a lot of people are examining the art at 6x much. I think that past like 2048p it all looks the same.
