Azusa Miura (21) shocked the entertainment world when she announced her pregnancy seven months ago, and even more shockingly vowed she wasn't planning to stop her idol work during her pregnancy. Stating, "to show the world how beautiful and natural pregnancy is," Azusa has kept that promise as she prominently shows off her growing bump. Despite gaining over 20kg, her popularity has grown substantially since her announcement, especially amongst the young women demographic, as they see the pregnant idol as empowering. During her latest press conference where she revealed she was having twins, when asked about her plans after she gives birth she stated, "Oh I plan to have as many kids as I can, so all my new fans can look forward to that. I hope I have triplets next time!"
Since Azusa's pregnant debut, four others have also announced being pregnant since, with some speculating this pregnancy craze may be the small idol production company's new focus.
I love writing tabloid like articles for celebrities for stuff like this. it's so fun. It was also a lot of fun drawing Azusa, our winner for last week's poll! My first idea was originally to draw her during a press conference or interview, but I figured it might be more lively and fun to draw her actually performing with her big round belly. I was thinking of adding other pregnant idols in the background, but that seemed like it would be a lot more work than I probably should put into a sketch drawing like this...

Also, since you're here, still reading this, how have you liked the character theming for the weekly polls? Should I just go random for next month instead? Also, would you guys enjoy voting on what the big overarching theme for the next month should be in advance, or would you rather just want me to go with whatever I'm in the mood for that month? In any case, the poll for this week will probably come out tomorrow morning.
