Nauli ("wave" from Sanskrit) is one of the cleansing practices (shatkarm) in Hatha Yoga๐
Nauli is a technique of isolating and contracting the rectus and oblique abdominal muscles. There are people who are impressed by this practice, there are those who think it looks scary (they once wrote to me, "My God, your stomach lives its own separate life!"), but Nauli did not leave anyone indifferent. When I first saw this technique, I realized - I want to learn! And I started practicing myself, studied my stomach, learned to separate the abdominal muscles. For two months I got up every morning and tried, tried... and then, at some point, I was able to use my rectus muscle! There was no limit to my joy! I remember these emotions๐๐ฅ I was happy and very proud of myself๐ซ I even have a video of my first belly waves, if there are many willing in the comments, I will share it๐
What is the use of Nauli? Why practice?
So, thanks to this practice, abdominal massage takes place (which cannot be achieved by other exercises, for example, by swinging the press), blood flow, which, washing the internal organs, stimulates their work, organs are tightened in vacuum, i.e. this is a powerful prevention of omission of abdominal organs, and, importantly for women, pelvic floor organs (yes, in the right technique, this practice strengthens intimate muscles) Uddiyana and Nauli (the full name of the practice) strengthens the muscular corset and reduces the waist in centimeters.
By the way, one Hindu, after watching my videos, wrote to me that only Gurus have the Nauli technique in India ๐๐ซ
