Chapter 357: Transcendent Soul

“And thus ends the last harvest.” Aalam’s space element clone put away the heart and horn he’d just carved from Krysta’s father’s large draconic body while his other elemental clones did the same with Kilvorax’s brothers. “The subsidized faith energy will stop from now on, but your punishment is concluded.
“You and your brothers now have a choice. You can either wait in your cages until my wife fully advances to A rank within the next few years, after which she will then sign the same contract with you as with all the citizens under the United Federation of Planets, allowing you to live in my universes, or I can return you to the prime material where all the elder gods other than my grandfather are currently missing.”
Watching Kilvorax and his eleven brothers think, Aalam was rather fascinated by how calm they all were, even with him just having done surgery on them that he himself found rather disturbing.
Then, like Mila had predicted, they all agreed to wait a bit to sign a contract.
According to her, the fact they were delaying until she was an A rank, even though her contracts as a B rank were binding to gods, would be looked on as a sign of good faith, as it meant they wanted the contract to still be binding even if one of the twelve were to advance further in the future. And, apparently, she was right.
That, or they were just terrified of what would happen to them were they to return to the Prime Material with no protection from the Primordial Sovereign.
Probably a mix of both.
With those thoughts in his head, Aalam’s twelve clones then moved to the center of the Twelve Element Spirit Universe, where his main body had prepared the previously harvested horns and hearts, the stolen draconic essence, and a whole bunch of other resources, including an ungodly amount of order and chaos treasures, throughout the giant formation he’d created in the Babylon I space station. Then, putting the new set of hearts and horns in their desired positions—hovering in specialized array-covered rooms that made up part of the greater array for advancing his and Mila’s race and bloodlines—the clones merged with his main body. And, finally, he stripped down and teleported all his belongings to a craft outside the space station before teleporting to a large open spherical room, exactly ten kilometers in diameter, in the exact center of the space station.
Meanwhile, Mila took position in an almost identical room roughly 30 kilometers out from the center, where the excess energy from his racial transformation would help empower her own, and then Aalam started up the giant array he’d originally finished over eight hundred thousand years ago.
Primal energy moved. Pure refined nascent energy flowed. Natural energy infused into the entire moon-sized space station. And faith energy gathered, concentrating in special statues in the station’s two main temples.
Over a year passed as energy accumulated, some entering into him and Mila, most cycling and condensing throughout the giant array.
And, during the process, Aalam and Mila prepared their bodies and souls, making subtle modifications to some of their racial abilities so they could be modified more easily when the array was fully activated and preparing themselves for another race change that almost everyone who knew anything about magic would think impossible.
Then, when their bodies were ready and the array was fully charged, the energy started to flow into Aalam.
The power of the twelve elements gathered. The power of divinity was summoned from his believers, filtered through the remaining bones of the Radiant Behemoth in spatially expanded chambers, and then condensed by the array. Natural energy was infused into large amounts of pure refined nascent energy. And the primal energy around him became so concentrated so as to turn from a gas to a liquid.
Then a concentrated beam carrying the power of order hit the front of his body while a beam containing the power of chaos hit his back. And, from above him, the undying powers of a phoenix, extracted from the body of his master’s daughter at his master’s insistence and then empowered and enhanced through over a million years of alchemy, entered into his body through his head.
Controlled by thirty-six peak grade Law Dragons, these various powers then started to combine in his body, almost killing him a dozen times from the perspective of any outsider who could have witnessed the process, but in truth always completely controlled, and Aalam’s race began to transform.
More important, his soul, made of sublime soul matter, began to metamorphose as well, changing just fast enough that the transformation of his race—which would have shattered, burned, ripped apart, or destroyed in other gruesome ways the souls of all known gods and elder gods in existence—couldn’t kill him.
This process—painless due to Aalam having set up the array formation correctly but almost endlessly itchy—then lasted another twenty-three days as other energy flowed into his body to increase the grade of his bloodline.
Then, when the advancement was over and Aalam was almost completely exhausted, he had to push the remaining energy from his transformation into another part of the array so his wife could absorb it, and, over another twenty-three days, he had to help her guide her energy and watch out for any anomalies—of which thankfully there were none—while she transformed her race and bloodline as well.
When he was done with the process, he just allowed himself to fall unconscious, and the last thing he sensed was Mila doing the same.
***
Four years later, when his body and soul had fully adjusted, Aalam awoke, a bit disturbed by just how long he had slept. And then, after checking to make sure Mila was okay, he began to analyze his new race and bloodline with the help of his self-created copy of the System for his own universes, focusing first on his bloodline.
Genetic Adaptor (Supreme)
You are a citizen of the multiverse, and any genetic power you find is yours
Effects:
You may steal the genetic power, from both race and bloodline, of any living being weaker than you and use that power however you see fit
Prodigiously decrease all soul burden, both from high stat effectiveness and different dimensional Laws
As expected, it was a straight upgrade from his previous Divine grade bloodline, and there didn’t seem to be any problems, so he moved on to what he was truly excited about.
Congratulations!
