Game Development Log #3

I am not entirely sure when the next update will be, but OPTIMISTICALLY, I am gunning for April/May. It feels like I'm moving at a glacial pace right now due to work, busy-ness, and illness, but I shouldn't be beating myself up about it, considering the Prologue was a ton of work by itself. I am still, at some capacity, working on this in the background during my free time.
I am hoping to gear up production in the couple months, but my fiance visiting might hinder it a little... though I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind a month of slow progress.
Development Progress
- We hired Bonny into the development team to help with the art assets!! She will be doing items, maybe helping with the phone GUI <3
- Made two new sprites, which I just posted! Hana already had one, but I thought this redesign makes more sense. The second one is a new character, Brandi. :) She will cameo in one of the Chapter 1 updates.
- Edited parts of Chapter 1, Crux first romance scene, Black first romance scene, currently ongoing edits with Vincenzo's. This is good because we'll be doing the next update after the romance scenes, so after editing, we'll be doing the assets, then get ready for programming.
- Purchased a new handwriting font from Bonny, which should make the game GUI better. Planning on doing a massive rehaul of it overall, tbh.
- Edited typos in the prologue.
- Installed the Ren'py Action Editor. Hopefully, that'll make scenes more dynamic and cooler!

Here's what I hope to accomplish in the next few months.

- Make bg "Rec Center"
- A video trailer
- Commmission bg for the big tree
