December Rewards + Green Heart + 2020 Plans!

Anyway that officially marks the end of 2019 and the new decade officially begins for me. Honestly I'm kind of overwhelmed with options right now. I have so many things I want to do: 3D art, Game Dev, and I really want to improve my 2D illustrations. There's so much stuff to do but if there's anything I learned in the past, it's important to take it slow and steady.
In light of that, there won't be any immediate change to my Patreon but I will gradually be adding and/or changing stuff along the way. Most importantly, at some point in the near future I want to add 3D character model polls! Pretty excited about that but I need to finish my Iris Heart model first and learn how to make base models so I can reuse stuff for efficiency.
Another thing I'd like to incorporate to my Patreon is 3D game development. I've been researching game dev stuff and I came to the conclusion that the easiest type of 3D game that I could do is an "Interactive Story" kind of game.
Basically it won't have any sort of gameplay apart from interacting with the world and characters. Kind of like a Visual Novel but in 3D. You might be wondering why I'm not looking for a programmer to help me and the reason is, I just want to make a game with my own two hands. There's something so alluring and captivating with the idea of programming my own 3D game world. That and because I think programming is not beyond me :P It will take a while but I'm positive that I can do it.
With all that said, I know that game dev is a massive undertaking so this won't be on until later. It also means that I need to become pretty good at 3D Art in order for me to do this and that's quite the hurdle.
Anyway this is getting long so I think I'll stop here. After all it's just plans and I don't want to obsess with planning and not actually do the work :P I drew Green Heart to end this post since it's been a while since the last time I drew her. I've been missing the Neps and since the 10th anniversary is this year, I think I'll do more Nep art. Anyway hope you like it and cheers to the new the decade!

Yep you're exactly right. With a 3D Visual Novel, I can focus on my strengths while I improve my weaknesses. I'm actually very excited to do game dev, but it's important to temper expectations and be reasonable, I've learned those the hard way :P

As for the dev cycle stuff, a visual novel sounds like a great starting point for a first project. It lets you focus on flexing your art while getting comfortable with coding. Definitely a good direction for you.
