I'm not even blaiming him for not linking the dots, watching this show once a week or so and a lot of shows besides it, makes it hard to follow but it's a shame. He was right when he said it's better to watch this on stream so chat could help point out some stuff, it makes it so much more better

I dont know if you realised but the end of the last episode was ghostblade killing sheng(little jhonny dad) and not current X committing the murder, hence why ghostblade appeared in the forest at the end of this episode
