Benefits of human touch…
🕑 Added 2023-09-01 08:03:38 +0000 UTCHave you ever heard the story of the premature twin babies that were separated into different incubators at birth and one wasn’t going to make it? This is how scientists discovered the power of human touch when they put both of the twins in the same incubator next to each other, and the twin that wasn’t going to make it started to thrive! Both babies made it from the power of human touch and skin to skin contact! This story alone encourages me to share and encourage you at home to spend lots of time cuddling your little ones! They need the human connection that comes from skin to skin contact as laying on mom or dads chest and being held a lot!
Put your baby in a fresh diaper and hold their little heads close to your bosom or chest where they can hear your heartbeat and feel your warmth. This can help with colicky crying, fevers, fears, nightmares, agitation, anxiety and so much more. A light blanket can be used to drape over them if it’s cold but always allow as much direct contact as possible and be cautious never to block their airway for breathing. Always ask your pediatrician or doctor the best and safest way for you and your child to have skin to skin contact for better health and bonding!
Your heartbeat simulates the sounds they hear in the womb and comforts newborns even into the first few years of life.
My daughters both cozy up to me with their faces near my heartbeat when they’re feeling scared or anxious feverish, sick or just tired. This is where they feel safest, in the arms of mommy right near their milk source. You don’t have to breastfeed to still give them the benefits of skin to skin contact and the soothing sound of your heartbeat! 💜 ❤️ 🥰
