Only one is capable of keeping Vernon in a 'calm state'. Aldebrand works tirelessly so that she can make sure Vernon doesn't bring about his own end. Agape knows about this 'arrangement', but she worries that Vernon's loyalties may lie with Aldebrand rather than herself.
