Oil painted Rey
🕑 Added 2024-11-12 20:53:10 +0000 UTCHey guys!
A different kind of post this time.
I just wanted to share with you all this oil painting I did of my SoD Rey.
Some of you might remember I mentioned some time ago that I was
dabbling into oil painting in my free time. Although I've painted digitally
for many many years now, I'm all but new to this element so don't be too harsh on me, 😅!
I've always found oils quite fascinating, they can produce certain blendings and tones that
other types of pigments can't and I liked the challenge of learning to paint with oils since it's a completely different language from what I'm used to.
So I figured while I practiced, I could also make something related to my work here, and that's
how this Rey came to be. It's literally the 4th "painting" I've made with oils, after what were 3 small practices really, an eye, a bird, and a small portrait. I started it months ago, but I would work on it very rarely so it took a lot of time to get to this point, and honestly, I could keep working on it for months, but I think it's best to just move on to something else and keep practicing if I want to get good at this at some point. I just realized it's not even signed >.<
I was thinking I could make it the back cover art of the Sands of Damnation series. What do you guys think?
Anyway, stay tuned for what's coming next this month! I'm almost done with the HEA book too!

100% - It’s amazing. Agree with an above comment about the traditional quality your work has. Would love to have a linen print of this.

She looks Beautiful! You are always so talented! I personally like her with "some" clothes on but that's just me lol. Oh and Yes I would like to see it on the back of the cover for SoD, or whatever else your planning on putting on it! I'm really looking forward to it!!!
Wongatello
Looks great! I've always loved your art style because it seemed more traditional, like with oils but in a digital format. This looks stunning and shows exactly why I subscribed. Love your art, keep it up! And love the progress shots, shows just how hard it is to make true art.

I think I'll hold on to the original for a while, but I was considering printing some copies on linen. Would you be interested in something like that?

Fantastic. Oil always brings out a depth I've never seen any other medium match. Although, I do think she's overdressed, but I'm biased :D

Nice work. In your future works is there a chance we can see some other actresses like Cailee Speany or Isabela Merced from Alien Romulus. Or if you’re gonna do another Marvel page can it include Hailee Stienfields Kate Bishop?
