🕑 Added 2025-04-08 17:02:35 +0000 UTCThe distribution transformer is all wired up for the copper laser now! It's quite overkill but at least I won't be bottlenecked by voltage or power limits. Now I have to mount the laser tube to something that won't arc over when it's being blasted by 30,000 volts at over 1000 amps.

it's just a voltage doubler but I went overkill on the diode strings because it will be feeding a spark gap and there will probably be some very high transient voltages present. The big tube in back is a monster tetrode and yes it's for a bigger demon circuit!

i found it through ebay and contacted the seller directly. it was $900 with half the cost being freight shipping. it has been a worthwhile purchase though since it has been used in a few projects already!

Ah, a voltage multiplier circuit. Tried to count diodes and caps to quess but right now is this a 4x multipier? 75k on one of the diode tubes. Oh and the microwave is parked in the background, no more hot pockets at midnight for you. And whats with the big looking triode in the back right - more power for the demon circuit?

My question is how did you get one of those pole pigs for a reasonable price. Haha oh yah it’s styropyro. Prob eBay or some sketchy Russian site.
