Also, a little trivia is that the 3rd movie had to be rewritten because the actor who played George McFly actually sued because they used his likeness when he wasn't actually in the movie at all. The actor (Crispin Glover) wanted more money for this film and was denied so he dropped out but they just hired someone who looked like him so they didn't have to rewrite this film.

They actually did not write all three movies at the same time. The first movie was supposed to be a solo movie, but it did so well they made sequels. Movie number two and number three are written and filmed back to back, and they did do such a good job at incorporating the first film. But originally, it was only the first film That was thought about.
