🕑 Added 2022-06-08 17:40:18 +0000 UTCI hired a crew to insulate my shop and they've been here intermittently the past couple weeks. assuming they finish by friday, next week will be drywall. i've been trying to film some stuff in the meantime but it's so difficult with all of my tools being under plastic wrap! i've ended up doing some cleanup and yard work during this down time, as well as some project planning.

That sounds nasty indeed. Damn good we don't have them (or if we do, they're definitely not common)!

poison ivy is much worse. the nettle stings more, but it's much shorter lived. the rash from poison ivy lasts for weeks and the oil can last on surfaces for years. inhaling smoke from a fire that's burning poison ivy can be lethal too.

ebay is your best bet. they are hard to find, and even harder to ship

The moth picture is awesome! Funny thing, I've always thought that poison ivy was the same plant as https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urtica_dioica which is the most common stinging plant here. Which one is nastier on the stinginess side of things?
